SanDisk reports the following on its website "The U3 technology has reached end of life. SanDisk began phasing out support for U3 Technology in late 2009."
Here are a couple of articles with more background on the quiet demise of U3.
You may have noticed we removed the U3 version from our download page. We held on as long as possible waiting for Microsoft and SanDisk to come up with a suitable replacement. However, in preparation for our upcoming Linked Notes 2.0 release, we have officially dropped support for the U3 version of Linked Notes.
For those who run Linked Notes from a USB storage device, and enjoy the portable nature of our note taking application. We will continue to release a PortableApps.com version in the future.

Linked Notes Beta 0.6 is in the works. Included are bug fixes and the ability to publish pages to external web locations. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, we have made arrangements with TrialPay to provide the Linked Notes software for free. All you need to do is complete one offer, and we will send you the license key for Linked Notes for FREE. It's that simple.
And, as if that's not enough, we have packaged the latest Beta release as a U3 Smart Drive application. Give it a try! Visit the download page for the download link.
